Creos Deutschland GmbH

As a regional distribution network operator, Creos Deutschland GmbH supplies the Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate region with gas and electricity. For this purpose, Creos has a more than 1,650-kilometre-long high-pressure gas network at its disposal, which stretches between Saarbrücken, Trier, Alf-Bullay, Bad Kreuznach, Ludwigshafen, Speyer and Bad Bergzabern. Creos also has a high- and medium-voltage network of around 450 kilometres, covering the area between Saarbrücken, Saarlouis, Dillingen and Neunkirchen.

The core competencies of Creos lie in the planning, construction and operation of these grids and the associated facilities, as well as in the continuous and mutual optimisation of the gas and electricity infrastructure to enable modern and efficient energy distribution across all sectors. In doing so, Creos Deutschland follows its mission of providing services of public interest: the essential goal is to ensure a cost-effective, efficient, secure and environmentally compatible energy supply – with a future-proof electricity and gas network that provides adequate entry and exit capacities on a non-discriminatory basis to all market participants .

Creos is increasingly adapting to the challenges of the energy transition. It is convinced that an efficient and secure infrastructure for the transport of gas molecules will also be necessary up until  2045, the target for climate neutrality in Germany, and beyond. This includes decarbonised gases as well as biogases, biomethane or hydrogen. Furthermore, Creos is also well positioned to meet the challenges of the future electricity supply: Its powerful network able to perform a triple-digit MW range has sufficient capacity to handle the increasing feed of green electricity from wind power and photovoltaic plants.

Customers in Creos’ gas network in Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate include power plant operators, industrial companies and commercial enterprises as ultimate  consumers, municipal utilities as downstream network operators and energy traders in their role as transport customers. Companies and regions in  proximity to Saarbrücken also trust the expertise of Creos when it comes to electricity supply. Thus, in the core region of Creos, approximately two million people in 340 towns and communities are indirectly supplied with energy.

Creos Deutschland GmbH employs around 180 people. It is a subsidiary of Encevo Deutschland GmbH, which in turn is a subsidiary of the leading Luxembourg energy group Encevo S.A.
